For too long I’ve been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I’ve been starving to death and haven’t died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea. Nor the warmth of a woman’s flesh.
GoT - OUAT quote-swap;
You are a complication. I know you love her and I know it’s true love, not bought by gold and silver. I’m asking you to leave because your presence endangers her. This will never be your home, Captain. Find a true home far from here. While there’s still time.

here life has death for neighbour,
and far from eye or ear
wan waves and wet winds labour,
weak ships and spirits steer;
they drive adrift, and whither
they wot not make thither,
but no such winds blow hither,
and no such things grow here.

Sleeping Hook AU - Hades/Persephone
inspired by {x}He wanted to devour her. Consume her light so she could warm him from within, illuminate the parts of him not even the fires of the river Phlegethon could touch. But he knew to touch her, to feel her warmth he would darken her; taint her. And suddenly he wanted her more, his need to reach out a grab her deepened. Not just to feel her warmth but to diminish it; to corrupt her. Taste her sweetness on his tongue and turn it to ash. Take the crown of daisies from her head and replace it with rubies; hard and cold. Make her his Queen.

They had been wrong about him, she had been wrong. The pomegranate seeds weren’t chaining her there, they were freeing her; showing her there was more to life then daisy chains and over protective mothers. They also showed her she needn’t choose one over the other, light over the dark, doting daughter over ruling queen. She could be both, thrive in both. She smiled because she realized she wasn’t sunlight warming the earth or a delicate flower her mother needed to protect. She wouldn’t wilt in the darkness. She would bloom. Bloom like only a star could, encompassed in the dark, dancing with it, dining with it; making love to it. To him. He gave her the darkness she needed to shine, the freedom to be all she could be.
“Why should I trust you? You’re a pirate.”
“You have no choice, princess.”
He is not the god of death. That is Thanatos. He is the god of souls, of stone, of cold.
She is the goddess of growing things and there is no life for her to nurture.
